Most peoples pain is caused by:

A) Vertebrae and bones which are incorrectly aligned and are trapping nerves.

B) Tight muscles are trapping nerves ( sciatica).
C) Muscles stop working, making other muscles do extra work and sending a stress signal back to the brain.
D) Incorrect information is sent back to the brain re- the muscle status. Causing a muscle to relax which puts more strain on other muscles.
In most cases A and D above is caused by an imbalance in at least one pair of muscles. This imbalance is usually due to a muscles being “turned off”  ( not working efficiently ). Which puts stress on the smaller muscles as well as changing the alignment of joints and therefore your posture.

jump to How I strengthen inefficient muscles

The main causes of a “turned off” muscles are.

1.Structural (physical) This is what I specialise in.

Some Structural ( physical ) causes of an inefficient muscle are :

A) When the fascial tissue surrounding the muscle is tight. This restricts the flow of blood and lymphatic fluid to the muscle therefore slowing down both the nutrition to the muscle as well as the ability to remove the toxins made ( e.g. lactic acid ). This is where Bowen therapy is at it’s most effective.
B)The muscle needs an increase in the flow of blood and lymphatic fluid.

C)The muscle needs resetting of the strain receptors in the muscle (such as: spindle cell and  golgi tendon apparatus ), which tell the brain the state of the muscle i.e. if it’s relaxed or overloaded.

2.Emotional.

Emotions and memory’s where you subconsciously tighten muscles or may cause muscles to weaken.

Emotions and memories are often the cause of both overly tight as well as muscles which have “turned off”. Some times the memory is in you subconscious and rarely thought of.
Some emotional ( memory ) causes are:
A) Car accidents causing muscles to tense up when driving
B) Relationship problems

C) Stress ( e.g. tight shoulder muscles )

3.Environmentally related.

Environmental problems also weaken a muscle.

Some environmentally related causes are:
A) Lack of vitamins and minerals, lack of magnesium may cause muscle spasms ( twitching ) or tension.
B) Toxins weakening muscles such as additives and preservatives in food, perfume, cleansers.
C) Medication and herbal treatments may weaken muscles.
D) Lack of fluid intake.
This is why Daves muscle therapy uses so many techniques . Touch For Health Kinesiology and Bowen therapy to deal with structural problems, EFT quickly deals with Emotional and memory stress and Dynamic Kinesiology is very good at helping to find the answers to emotional ( memory’s ) and environmental causes which are effecting the body, as well as problems caused by digestion, poor brain integration.
I  have specialised in the first category for more than 10 years.
i.e. Structural / physical simply because that’s all most people need to fix their problem.
However if a client requests the other therapies or if they get only short term improvements ( couple of months ) then I will suggest the other therapies.
